Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven’t written anything for a while.
There have been quite a few changes happening in my world, and I think I needed some time to sit with them before I could put them into words.
So, where do I begin?
A few months ago, someone who works in the same field as me said something that really stopped me in my tracks.
They said:
“Either you’re not as poorly as you say you are, or you’re fake in your practice.”
At first, I honestly thought I had misheard them. So I asked them to explain what they meant.
The answer was something along the lines of:
“If you actually did the things you talk about, you would be fit and well.”
I was shocked. Not just because of what was said, but because I felt I had to explain something to another person who considers themselves spiritual.
I am a soul living inside a human body. And human bodies aren’t perfect.
They don’t always work the way we want them to. They don’t always respond to what we believe they should. Sometimes our bodies carry things that aren’t going to be fixed by eating the right foods, thinking positively or surrounding ourselves with crystals.
For me, that’s part of my journey.
I truly believe that everything I’ve experienced in my life has helped shape the person I am today. The pain. The difficult times. The lessons. The things I’ve had to overcome.
I believe they have given me something incredibly important… empathy. Compassion. Understanding.
Because when someone sits in front of me and tells me they’re struggling, I don’t just hear their words. I understand what it feels like to struggle.
And that’s why I will always say that my witchcraft is about wellbeing.

It’s about finding little pieces of magick in the everyday. It’s about connecting with nature. It’s about grounding yourself beneath a tree, feeling the earth beneath your feet, watching the moon, lighting a candle with intention or simply taking five minutes to breathe when the world feels too much.
When you live with pain day after day, those little moments can mean everything.
But no amount of vegetables, fruit, clean living or positive thinking is going to magickally make a lifelong health condition disappear.
What those things can do is help us find little ways of caring for ourselves. And having a positive mindset can make things easier to manage.
But I’m human. I have bad days too.
I have days where I don’t feel positive. Days where I get frustrated. Days where I wonder why my body won’t just cooperate.
And that’s okay. We’re allowed to have those days.
Learning acceptance
I think acceptance is one of the hardest things we can ever learn.
Not acceptance in the sense of giving up. But acceptance in the sense of saying:
“This is where I am right now. What can I do with this life I’ve been given?”
And once I started doing that, something changed inside me.
I stopped fighting quite so hard against the things I couldn’t change. And I started paying more attention to the things I could.
Which brings me to something rather magickal…
My Moldavite journey.
The stone that scared me
I’m sure many of you know what Moldavite is, but for those who don’t, Moldavite is a beautiful green tektite associated with a meteorite impact that occurred millions of years ago in what is now the Czech Republic.

Within the crystal and spiritual world, Moldavite has become known as a stone of transformation. A stone that can shake things up. A stone associated with change, growth, release and moving forward.
And for years, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with it!
I’m naturally very sensitive, and whenever I was near Moldavite, I would feel physically sick and dizzy. So I left it alone.
Until earlier this year.
I was talking to a friend and something suddenly clicked.
Maybe I wasn’t ready for it before. Maybe there was a reason I had always felt so uncomfortable around it. Maybe I needed to be ready to change before I could work with something that I associated so strongly with transformation.
So I decided… let’s give it a go.
I spoke to the universe in my own way and said:
“Put me wherever you want and need me to be. I’ll accept everything, as long as you keep Daren with me.”
Little did I know what I had just asked for.
Day one
I started my Moldavite journey in January.
The first time I held my pendant, that familiar feeling came rushing back. Sickness. Dizziness. An overwhelming sensation that something was happening inside me.
So I decided not to force it.
I placed the pendant on our bedroom windowsill overnight under the full moon.
During the night, I randomly woke up. Our curtains weren’t completely closed. There was a little gap where I could see the moon and the night sky.
And then I noticed something.
The moonlight appeared to create a pathway of light from the moon, through the gap in the curtains, directly onto the windowsill where my Moldavite was sitting.
It was such a simple thing.
Maybe it was just moonlight. Maybe it was nothing more than the position of the curtains and the angle of the moon.
But in that moment, it felt magickal. It gave me a sense of peace.
The following morning, after my bath, I picked up my pendant and put it on. I managed about an hour.
The dizziness made me feel drunk. But alongside that was another strange sensation. I felt like I needed to run.
And this was particularly strange for someone who, at the time, was spending more time in a wheelchair than actually walking.
Over the next ten days, I took things slowly. I meditated with the Moldavite. I wore it for short periods. Then a little longer. And a little longer again.
I also used Obsidian as part of my grounding practice and carried Selenite alongside it.
I wasn’t trying to force anything. I was listening.
Listening to my body. Listening to my intuition. Listening to that quiet little voice inside that we so often ignore.
Then came day ten.
I put the Moldavite on… and I left it on.
And that’s when everything seemed to begin shifting.
When the magick started moving
For months, I had felt stuck with the business.
I knew something wasn’t quite right. I knew I needed to change direction. But I couldn’t work out exactly what that direction was.
Then suddenly, I found myself looking at new ethical wholesalers. I started talking to people. I started exploring different products. I started thinking about what I actually wanted Practical Magick to be.
Not what people expected it to be. Not what other people thought I should be doing. But what felt right to me.
I realised that the business needed to become more natural. More spiritual. More connected to who I actually am.
And then something else happened.
People started leaving. Friendships started falling apart.
And it hurt. Of course it hurt.
I questioned myself. What’s wrong with me? Why are people leaving? What have I done?
But eventually I started looking at it differently.
Maybe some people were supposed to leave. Maybe not every person who enters our lives is supposed to stay forever. Maybe some people come into our lives to teach us something. And maybe some leave when that lesson is complete.
When I looked back at certain relationships, I began to see things differently.
Some relationships had been built around what I could do for people. What I could provide. What I could organise. What I could give.
And perhaps losing those relationships wasn’t actually losing something.
Perhaps it was making space.
Finding my own magick
For years, Daren has said to me:
“You’re meant to do platform mediumship, Claire. When are you going to accept it?”
My answer?
“Never!”
I didn’t want to do it. Or at least, I thought I didn’t.
Then I realised why.
Because it felt like something I was expected to do.
And I have never wanted to become somebody else’s version of what a medium, witch or spiritual practitioner should be.
I don’t want to follow somebody else’s rules just because that’s how it’s always been done.
I want to find my own way. My own voice. My own magick.
So I did.
And something beautiful happened.
New people started coming into my life. People came along to my groups. Some of my original people stayed.
People I had known but never really been close to became some of my closest friends. People I had known years ago, but lost contact with, suddenly found their way back into my life.
It was almost as if the pieces of my life were being rearranged.
And suddenly… everything started making sense.
Becoming me
The business changed. It became more authentically me.
I’ve been writing courses to teach people about crystals. I’ve run more workshops. I’ve written and published my book.
I’ve stepped onto a platform and done mediumship… but I’ve done it my way.
Not because somebody told me how I should do it. Because I found my own way of bringing my two worlds together.

And something else happened that I never thought I’d have the confidence to do.
I’ve written my very first handfasting ceremony for a beautiful couple who will be celebrating their love next year.
That might sound like a small thing to some people. But for me, it’s huge.
Writing a ceremony that brings two people together, creating the words, the symbolism and the magick that will surround such an important moment in their lives… that’s something I would never have believed I had the confidence to do before.
And the truth is, I didn’t.
Not until after my Belief Coding session.
And then came Belief Coding…
Along this journey, I met a lovely lady who teaches Belief Coding.
I had a session with her and honestly… it transformed my life.
I had spent so much time questioning myself.
Was I good enough? Was I doing things right? Should I be doing things differently? Was I good enough to stand in front of people? Was I good enough to teach? Was I good enough to create? Was I good enough to trust my own intuition?
And somehow, after that session, something shifted.
The confidence that I had been searching for seemed to finally appear.
Not overnight in a magickal “everything is perfect now” kind of way. But enough for me to start believing in myself.
Enough to say:
“Actually… I can do this.”
And then I started doing things that the old version of me would have been terrified to do.
Standing on a platform. Creating my own style of mediumship. And now writing a handfasting ceremony for two beautiful people who have trusted me to be part of their special day.
That’s a pretty big deal for me.

Attuned to you
Was it a coincidence that I met her while I was on my Moldavite journey?
Maybe.
To someone who doesn’t believe in signs, synchronicities or the universe working in mysterious ways, perhaps it was simply coincidence.
But I don’t believe in coincidences.
I believe people cross our paths for reasons. I believe sometimes the universe puts exactly the right person in front of us at exactly the right moment.
And perhaps that’s what this entire journey has really been about.
Not Moldavite magickally changing my life. Not a crystal fixing me. But something helping me to become more aware of myself.
To listen. To release. To grow. To trust. To stop trying to fit into somebody else’s idea of who I should be.
Maybe that’s what being attuned to you really means.
Not constantly searching outside yourself for answers. But learning to listen to the person within.
Learning when to push. Learning when to rest. Learning when something doesn’t feel right. Learning when somebody belongs in your life… and learning when it’s time to let them go.
Learning that your spiritual path doesn’t have to look like anybody else’s.
Your magick doesn’t have to look like somebody else’s magick. Your healing doesn’t have to look like somebody else’s healing.
And your journey certainly doesn’t have to make sense to everyone else.
It only has to make sense to you.
I don’t know where this journey is going to take me next. And perhaps that’s the most exciting part.
I’ve stopped needing to know.
I’m learning to trust. I’m learning to listen. I’m learning to follow those little whispers of intuition.
And I’m learning to accept that sometimes the biggest changes in our lives begin when we finally stop resisting them.
So, Moldavite…
I still don’t know if I love you. You certainly gave me a run for my money!
But I do know one thing.
You helped me look at my life differently.
And perhaps the greatest magick wasn’t changing my life at all.
Perhaps it was helping me realise that I had the power to change it myself.
Here’s to becoming more attuned to who we really are.
Claire x
